Elliott Classroom
As with the Devon Lady, although most Elliott classrooms are in need of refurbishment they have always provided a functional classroom space and an average 80% of the of the structure is still sound.
From experience the outer plywood skin, areas of the structure around doorways and the jacking points below the structure require the most attention. By creating a new external frame, which is insulated and clad, whilst replacing any rotten timber there is no reason why these buildings cannot provide many years of useful service.
In a time when re-cycling is now part of our everyday lives, our philosophy is to re-use the 80% that is good whilst replacing the bad 20%. Our service provides schools with a way of maximising what you have, by bringing the Elliott up to date in terms of insulation and heating efficiency, fire and disabled access regulations whilst restyling the structure for a more contemporary look.
